After a much successful edition of the Gas Motorshow in June, many people, myself included, were rather eager when Team Gas Magazine announced the “ALL STARS WEEKEND PARKOFF”. Personally, just the title had drawn me to the event as “park offs” are a much needed concept that Durban lacks..

People are always attending “SHOW AND SHINE” competitions yet leave disappointed by not taking home a trophy, here everyone took home a certificate. The morning of the event was somewhat of a disappointment with the blistering rain. My show car which was all prepped the night before, now laid aired-out covered in dirt. However as the saying goes, “The show must gone!”

Totally freezing at the show, I chose not to use a jacket and block my cool All Stars Weekend T-shirt. At first sight when entering, one would think many people did not attend due to the weather, but once you made your way to the main show area it was evident that nothing can stop the true car fanatics.

The show was truly vibey, with the smell of burning rubber and roaring engines from the drift and drag cars to the sounds of the screaming bikes, buzzing crowds and the entertainment from the popular Mc’s Vic and Desmond. It was everything that it promised to be. Sunday offered nothing less with some of the fastest Drag Cars competing for the fastest times.
